Carolyn Bidwell
Carolyn Bidwell is Head of Tax for Brookfield’s Global Client and Credit Groups, as well as Head of U.S. Tax for Brookfield Asset Management. She is responsible for strategic tax planning and structuring across the asset management business, leading the global tax function for the Credit business, tax structuring across all Brookfield private funds, and tax-related legislative and regulatory initiatives. Previously, she oversaw the global mergers and acquisitions tax team in the Real Estate Group and the structuring of Brookfield’s global real estate funds.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2014, Ms. Bidwell was an associate at the law firms of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Clifford Chance, where she represented private equity funds and public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, restructurings, and fund structuring.
Ms. Bidwell holds a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law and a Bachelor of Laws degree from University College London. Ms. Bidwell serves as a committee member of the Real Estate Roundtable, NAREIT, the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives, and several other industry groups. She also serves on the board of directors of the United Way of New York City.
